About Green Ritual

Green Ritual is a booking platform that connects you with independent cleaning professionals. We are not the employer of the cleaners who provide services through our platform. Cleaners are self-employed contractors who set their own availability.

Booking and payment

  • Payment is taken at the time of booking via Stripe. We do not store your card details.
  • Your booking is confirmed once payment is successful and a cleaner accepts the job.
  • If no cleaner is available for your booking, we will contact you to reschedule or arrange a full refund.
  • Checkout sessions expire after 30 minutes. If payment is not completed, the booking will not be confirmed.

Cancellation

  • 24+ hours notice: Full refund
  • Less than 24 hours notice: 50% refund
  • You can cancel via your booking management link (sent by SMS) or by calling our support line.

These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Rescheduling

Rescheduling is available if you give at least 24 hours notice before your booking. To reschedule with less notice, please contact us and we will do our best to help, but standard cancellation terms may apply.

Access to your property

  • Please ensure the cleaner can access your property at the booked time. Provide clear instructions when booking.
  • If the cleaner cannot access your property (a "lockout"), you will be charged in full.
  • As a goodwill gesture, we waive the charge for the first lockout per customer.

Service issues and disputes

  • If you are not satisfied with the clean, report the issue within 4 hours of completion.
  • Our primary remedy is to arrange for your cleaner to return and address the issue at no extra cost.
  • If a return visit is not possible or does not resolve the issue, we will review your case and may offer a partial or full refund at our discretion.
  • Pre-existing damage and permanent stains are not covered.

If your cleaner does not arrive

If the assigned cleaner cannot attend, we will attempt to find a replacement. If no replacement is available, you will receive a full refund.

Communications

By booking with us, you agree to receive operational messages by SMS about your booking (confirmations, reminders, updates). You can also book and manage appointments via our voice booking line. We do not send marketing messages without your consent.

About our cleaners

  • Cleaners using our platform are independent contractors, not Green Ritual employees.
  • We verify cleaner identity and right-to-work documentation before they can accept jobs.
  • Any concerns about cleaner conduct should be reported to us promptly.

Insurance

  • Cleaning services booked through our platform are covered by public liability insurance for accidental damage and injury.
  • If accidental damage occurs during a clean, report it to us within 24 hours with photos. We will review and handle valid claims through our insurance.
  • Insurance does not cover: theft, deliberate damage, pre-existing damage, wear and tear, damage to undisclosed delicate surfaces, or damage caused by customer-provided products.
  • We recommend securing valuable, fragile, or sentimental items before your clean.

Liability

Green Ritual is a platform that connects you with independent cleaning professionals. Our liability is limited as follows:

  • For accidental damage during a clean, see the Insurance section above.
  • We are not liable for theft, loss of valuables, or damage caused by factors outside the cleaner's control.
  • We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use, inconvenience, or diminution in property value.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

These terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of our service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
